ARP Main Stud Kit for World Products Warhawk LS Aluminum Block

The ARP Main Stud Kit provides high-strength main-cap fastening for World Products Warhawk LS aluminum engine blocks. This block-specific kit combines 7/16-inch main studs with the required 8mm main-cap bolts, nuts, washers, and ARP Ultra-Torque fastener assembly lubricant.

ARP rates both fastener groups at 200,000 psi. The main studs are installed hand-tight into the block, allowing the primary clamping load to be applied through the nuts during final engine assembly.

This kit is specific to the World Products Warhawk LS aluminum block. It should not be assumed to fit production GM LS aluminum or iron blocks, other World Products engine blocks, or aftermarket LS blocks from another manufacturer.

ARP specifies tightening both fastener groups in three equal steps while following the block manufacturer’s recommended torque sequence. The listed torque values apply when ARP Ultra-Torque lubricant is used as directed.

Recommended for performance engine assembly, rebuilding, main-bearing service, or replacement of the main fasteners in a compatible World Products Warhawk LS aluminum block.

Installing higher-strength main fasteners changes the clamping force applied to the main caps and bearing bores. The block should be inspected and measured after the fasteners have been installed at the specified preload.

Installation

Clean all threaded holes in the engine block before installation and use an appropriate thread chaser when necessary. Clean and inspect every fastener for correct fit, length, dimensions, or damage before beginning assembly.

Install the 7/16-inch studs into the block hand-tight only. Position the main caps and check for binding or misalignment. Lubricate the stud threads, nuts, and washers with ARP Ultra-Torque, then tighten the nuts in three equal steps to 80 ft-lb using the block manufacturer’s recommended sequence.

For the 8mm main-cap bolts, position each washer with its chamfered side facing the bolt head. This orientation provides clearance for the radius beneath the bolt head. Lubricate the bolt threads, underside of each bolt head, and both sides of the washers with ARP Ultra-Torque. Tighten the bolts in three equal steps to 25 ft-lb.

After applying the specified preload, check the main-bearing bores for correct size and out-of-round condition. Align-honing may be required. Any align-honing operation should be performed using the same fasteners, lubricant, and preload intended for final engine assembly. Professional engine-machine-shop inspection and installation are strongly recommended.
