ARP Main Stud Kit

Vauxhall/Opel 2.0L 16V

209-5401

Material: 8740 alloy chromoly

How are ARP studs made

This ARP main stud kit was made from a premium grade 8740 alloy chromoly material, the threads are rolled after heat-treatment.  They are a good tough steel with adequate fatigue properties for most racing applications,  Typically, chrome moly is classified as a quench and temper steel, that can be heat-treated to deliver tensile strengths between 180,000 and 210,000 psi.

Why you should replace your OEM bolts with ARP?

OEM bolts are more prone to failure from tensile overload, torsional shear, Impact Shear, and will stretch and neck down prior to rupture, ARP bolts/studs are made with stronger material than then OEM head bolts, and they are re-useable.

So why ARP?

ARP has been designing and manufacturing race fasteners since 1968, they have mastered the design process of automotive bolts, they are a well known brand in the racing industry.
