Designed for Subaru 2.0L and 2.5L EJ-series DOHC engines, this kit replaces the factory head bolts with high-strength ARP studs, 12-point nuts, and hardened washers. The stud design helps provide more consistent cylinder-head clamping and more accurate head-gasket alignment during engine assembly.
The studs are manufactured from heat-treated 8740 chrome-moly steel and are suitable for stock rebuilds, performance street engines, high-boost turbocharged applications, and competition builds where dependable head-gasket sealing is important.

Installation Note
Clean the engine-block threads and cylinder-head washer seating surfaces before installation. Install the studs into the block hand-tight only; do not torque the studs into the block.
ARP instructs installers to keep the washer-to-cylinder-head mating surfaces clean and dry, then apply ARP Ultra-Torque lubricant to the exposed stud threads and the underside of the nuts. Following the manufacturer’s tightening sequence, torque the nuts in three steps:
- 30 lb-ft
- 60 lb-ft
- 90 lb-ft final torque
