DBA XP / Xtreme Performance Compound

DBA XP is a higher-friction performance compound intended for applications where stronger initial response and greater thermal stability are required. It is well suited to heavy towing, upgraded 4WDs, repeated high-load braking, and demanding street use.

Designed for high initial bite and friction consistency from low through high operating temperatures. Recommended uses include heavy towing and upgraded 4WD vehicles, making this compound particularly relevant to heavy-duty Ram applications.

Compared with a comfort-focused OE-style pad, a performance compound may produce:

Bedding-In

Proper bedding helps establish an even friction layer between the pads and rotors.

After installation:

• Avoid repeated emergency-style stops during the initial bedding period
• Gradually increase braking load in a safe environment
• Allow the brakes to cool between higher-load stops
• Inspect for abnormal vibration, noise, or uneven rotor contact
• Follow DBA’s current bedding procedure when available with the pads

New pads installed on heavily grooved, heat-spotted, or uneven rotors may not bed properly.

Installation Note

Professional installation is recommended.

Before installing the new pads:

• Inspect both front rotors for thickness, runout, cracking, heat damage, and uneven wear
• Confirm the caliper pistons move correctly
• Inspect slide pins and mounting hardware
• Verify the pads match the original pad shape
• Clean the pad abutment and caliper contact areas
• Replace damaged or heavily worn rotors as necessary

After installation, bleed or service the brake system if necessary and verify a firm pedal before driving.
