The Energy Suspension Polyurethane Cush Drive Damper Set replaces all six original rubber cush-drive dampers in the rear wheel of compatible Suzuki motorcycles, including the 1999–2007 GSX1300R Hayabusa. The dampers fit between the rear wheel and sprocket carrier, where they help absorb driveline shock during acceleration, shifting, and throttle transitions.

Energy Suspension manufactures these replacement dampers from its proprietary Hyper-Flex polyurethane. The material is designed to outlast and outperform soft original rubber while helping provide smoother shifting and reduce movement that can contribute to wear on related driveline components. The firmer construction is particularly suitable for motorcycles with increased horsepower.

Recommended Use

Recommended when the original rubber cush-drive dampers are hardened, cracked, compressed, loose, or allowing excessive movement between the rear wheel and sprocket carrier. Possible signs of worn dampers may include:

  • Excessive free play at the rear sprocket carrier
  • Clunking during throttle application or deceleration
  • Harsh or inconsistent driveline engagement
  • Loose-fitting sprocket carrier during rear-wheel service
  • Visible cracking, deformation, or deterioration of the original rubber

Inspect the chain, sprockets, wheel bearings, sprocket-carrier bearing, spacers, and rear-wheel components to identify the source of any driveline movement or noise before replacing parts.

What’s Included

  • 6 red Hyper-Flex polyurethane cush-drive dampers
  • One complete replacement set for one compatible rear wheel
  • Energy Suspension part number 70.3005R

The sprocket carrier, rear sprocket, bearings, wheel spacers, seals, axle hardware, and installation tools are not included.

Installation

Rear-wheel and sprocket-carrier removal is required. Follow the motorcycle manufacturer’s service procedure for safely supporting the motorcycle, removing the rear wheel, and reinstalling and adjusting the drive chain.

Remove all six original cush-drive dampers and clean the damper pockets before installing the polyurethane replacements. Inspect the sprocket carrier, wheel pockets, bearings, seals, axle, spacers, chain, and sprockets for excessive wear or damage.

Make certain the dampers and sprocket carrier are fully seated before reinstalling the rear wheel. Tighten the axle and related hardware to the motorcycle manufacturer’s specifications, adjust chain slack, and verify correct rear-wheel alignment before riding. Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with motorcycle rear-wheel service.
