The EXEDY Clutch Master Cylinder is an OE-style replacement for select 1983–1987 Toyota Corolla and 1986–1989 Toyota Celica models equipped with a manual transmission. It replaces the original hydraulic clutch master cylinder responsible for converting clutch-pedal movement into hydraulic pressure.

A worn or leaking master cylinder can cause a soft clutch pedal, difficulty disengaging the clutch, inconsistent pedal operation, fluid loss, or trouble shifting into gear. EXEDY MC263 is designed as a vehicle-specific replacement for the compatible Toyota applications listed below.

Features

  • Replacement hydraulic clutch master cylinder
  • OE-style design for compatible Toyota applications
  • Helps restore consistent clutch-pedal operation
  • Replaces a leaking, worn, or internally bypassing master cylinder
  • Designed for manual-transmission vehicles
  • Not a brake master cylinder
  • EXEDY part number MC263

Recommended Use

Recommended when diagnosis identifies a worn, leaking, seized, or internally bypassing clutch master cylinder. Possible symptoms may include:

  • Soft, spongy, or sinking clutch pedal
  • Clutch pedal remaining near the floor
  • Difficulty disengaging the clutch
  • Difficulty selecting gears while the engine is running
  • Visible hydraulic-fluid leakage near the master cylinder
  • Repeated loss of clutch hydraulic pressure

These symptoms can also be caused by air in the hydraulic system, a leaking clutch slave cylinder, damaged hydraulic lines, or internal clutch problems. Inspect the complete system before replacing components.

What’s Included

  • 1 EXEDY clutch master cylinder
  • EXEDY part number MC263

Clutch fluid, clutch slave cylinder, hydraulic lines, installation tools, and additional hardware are not included unless supplied with the product.

Installation

Remove the original clutch master cylinder according to the Toyota service procedure. Inspect the hydraulic line, clutch slave cylinder, pedal connection, mounting hardware, and surrounding components for wear, leakage, corrosion, or damage.

After installation, fill the reservoir with the Toyota-specified hydraulic fluid and bleed the clutch system completely. Verify proper pedal travel, clutch disengagement, hydraulic operation, and the absence of leaks before driving.

Hydraulic fluid can damage painted surfaces. Clean spills immediately and follow the vehicle manufacturer’s handling, bleeding, and disposal procedures. Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with hydraulic clutch service.
