Key Features / Bullets

Two Honda Hi-Temp silicone RTV gasket (Part # 08718-0004)

Non-acidic formula safe for aluminum and cast metal surfaces
Honda Powersports

Temperature range: 75 °F to 600 °F

Flexible, resists vibration and fluid exposure (oil, water, many chemicals)

Ideal for surfaces that don’t require a solid gasket (e.g. valve covers, oil pans, timing covers)

Use Cases

1.9 fl. oz. tube with stepped nozzle for precise application

The Honda Bond Hi-Temp Liquid Gasket is a high-quality, OEM-grade RTV sealant engineered for demanding engine and mechanical applications. Unlike traditional gasket materials, this silicone formula cures to form a flexible, durable seal that can handle high temperatures, vibration, and exposure to oils and fluids.

Honda’s non-acidic formula ensures it’s safe to use on aluminum and other metal surfaces without corrosion risk.

It’s ideal for sealing surfaces that don’t require rigid gaskets—places where a thin, adaptable bead can provide a reliable seal.

Common applications include:

Valve cover Gasket

Cam Seal/Plug

Oil pans

Timing chain covers

Water pump housings

Transmission or differential mating surfaces (where rigid gaskets aren’t suitable)

Application & Installation Tips

Surface prep matters — clean and degrease both mating surfaces thoroughly.

Apply a thin, even bead — too much product can cause squeeze-out or interference.

Wait ~1 minute (or as directed) before mating surfaces to allow “tack” time.

Torque bolts in stages to the correct spec, in a cross pattern where applicable.

Let the sealant cure fully before subjecting it to heat and fluids (check Honda’s cure time).
