Injen RD Cold Air Intake for 1988–1991 Honda Civic EX/Si 1.6L – Black

The Injen RD Cold Air Intake System is a direct-fit performance intake for compatible 1988–1991 Honda Civic EX and Civic Si models equipped with a 1.6L engine. Its mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube positions the air filter away from the engine compartment to draw cooler, denser outside air.

This RD Series intake replaces the restrictive factory air-intake assembly with a smooth 6061-T6 aluminum tube and a serviceable Injen SuperNano-Web dry air filter. The system is designed to improve airflow and produce a more aggressive induction sound under acceleration without requiring additional engine tuning.

Installation

Installation requires removal of the original air-intake assembly and access to the area behind the front bumper or inner splash shield where the cold-air filter is positioned. Carefully follow the supplied Injen instructions and retain the original components in case the vehicle is returned to its factory configuration.

After installation, verify that the intake tube, filter, hoses, wiring, and clamps are securely positioned and do not contact moving or hot components. Because the filter is mounted low in the vehicle, avoid driving through deep standing water. An optional Injen Hydroshield can provide additional protection from splashed water and debris but cannot prevent water ingestion if the filter becomes submerged.
