This set of four NGK SILZKBR8D8S Laser Iridium spark plugs provides OE-style ignition performance and extended service life for compatible BMW engines. Each plug combines a fine-wire iridium center electrode with a platinum-tipped ground electrode to help provide reliable ignition, consistent combustion, and resistance to electrode wear.

The package contains four spark plugs, making it a complete replacement set for compatible four-cylinder engines. These plugs are also used in certain six-cylinder applications, including select BMW S55 engines, but two sets or additional individual plugs will be required.

Performance and Modified Engines

SILZKBR8D8S plugs are also used in some modified or tuned BMW applications. This does not make them a universal replacement for every BMW turbo engine. The appropriate heat range and electrode gap depend on the engine, tune, fuel, boost pressure, ignition system, and tuner’s requirements.

For a modified vehicle, follow the engine builder’s or tuner’s spark-plug and gap recommendations rather than relying solely on the factory specification.

Installation

Compare each new plug with the plug being removed and verify the part number and gap before installation. Fine-wire iridium electrodes can be damaged by improper gapping tools, so use a suitable wire-style gauge and avoid applying pressure to the center electrode.

Install the plugs only when the cylinder head is cool. Start each plug by hand to prevent cross-threading and tighten it according to the vehicle manufacturer’s procedure and torque specification. Inspect the ignition coils, boots, and plug wells for damage, oil, moisture, or contamination while the plugs are removed.
