Ruthenium HX Technology

Installation

Compare the new plugs with the plugs being removed and verify the part number and electrode gap before installation. Although FR5BHX is supplied with a nominal 1.1 mm gap, the required gap may vary by application.

Avoid applying pressure to the fine-wire center electrode when checking or adjusting the gap. Install the plugs only when the cylinder head is cool, start each plug by hand to prevent cross-threading, and tighten according to the vehicle manufacturer’s procedure and torque specification. Do not apply anti-seize unless directed by the vehicle manufacturer.
