This OEM Honda 91212-PNC-003 front main / crankshaft seal is the correct factory part meant to seal the front crankshaft snout, preventing oil from weeping out where the crank pulley presses on. Over time, seals wear, the lip loses tension, or the crankshaft journal surface can develop grooves — all of which lead to oil leaks that drip or spray forward toward your timing cover / front of engine.
Replacing this seal is a common fix for front-oil-leak issues. The part presses neatly into the timing chain cover (front cover), with the sealing lip contacting the crankshaft.
For a clean installation:
Clean and inspect the crankshaft snout for burrs or damage
Use a seal driver or socket matching the outer diameter to press the seal in square
Lubricate the internal lip (with clean engine oil) before final fitting
After installation, reinstall crank pulley and torque properly
