SuperPro's ALOY016K offers a number of significant upgrades in a single kit.
The alloy control arms are both lighter and stronger than the steel arms used on WRX models. The ALOY0016K effectively provides an STI-style alloy arm set with upgraded bushings already installed.
Anti-lift geometry keeps more of the tire's contact patch in contact with the pavement under acceleration, allowing power to more efficiently get to the ground.
SuperPro's proprietary polyurethane compound and DuroBall compound bushing are used in the forward and rearward bushing assemblies, offering a significant upgrade over the soft and heavily voided OEM bushings. This reduces deflection and movement, resulting in more consistent tire performance, better traction, better grip, and reduced wheel hop. The smaller inner bushings at the rear also feature a bonded steel shell to reduce friction during suspension travel, allowing springs and dampers to deliver the intended performance.
This kit is complete, including required hardware and new ball joint bosses, avoiding the issue with corrosion often making it difficult or impossible to reuse the originals.
Why Standard Geometry? For those looking for additional positive caster from this control arm upgrade, see the ALOY0017K kit that includes a double offset bushing design to increase positive caster. The standard geometry kit is ideal for customers who wish to run a significantly lower ride height than stock and/or a much wider wheel and tire package, or simply a more aggressive (numerically lower) wheel offset. The additional caster featured in the ALOY0017K will move the front wheel forward in the wheel opening slightly. Normally not an issue, but in cars running very low ride heights, extremely aggressive wheel/tire combinations, or some combination of the two, this can cause the tires to rub on the inner fender liner at or near full steering lock (like when backing out of a parking spot). For these customers, the ALOY0014K is introduced without the additional caster built in.
For a complete upgrade - consider the TRC0002 roll center and bump steer correction kit that further optimizes front end geometry in lowered cars and refreshes ball joints and tie rod ends at the same time.
