Wilwood Forged Narrow Superlite 6R Front Brake Kit for 1963–1987 C10 and C15 Trucks

Upgrade the front braking system on a compatible 1963–1987 Chevrolet C10 or GMC C15 truck with the Wilwood 140-15940-D Forged Narrow Superlite 6R front brake kit.

This kit uses black powder-coated six-piston Superlite 6R calipers, 12.19-inch SRP drilled and slotted iron rotors, forged aluminum hubs, BP-10 brake pads, mounting brackets, bearings, seals, wheel studs, and installation hardware.

The kit is designed specifically for use with Wilwood one-piece iron ProSpindles, which are sold separately. It will not install on original factory spindles.

Required Wilwood ProSpindles

This brake kit requires one of the following Wilwood one-piece iron drop-spindle sets:

• 1963–1970 trucks: Wilwood ProSpindle part number 831-15931
• 1971–1987 trucks: Wilwood ProSpindle part number 831-15932

ProSpindles are sold separately and are not included with this brake kit.

This kit does not fit original factory spindles.

The hub offset changes wheel position relative to the original brake and spindle configuration. Wilwood lists the effective wheel-position change as approximately:

• 1963–1970: 0.41 inch outward per side
• 1971–1987: 0.06 inch inward per side

Verify wheel, fender, tire, and suspension clearance before installation.

Wheel Clearance Notice

Wilwood lists a minimum recommended wheel diameter of 15 inches. However, wheel diameter alone does not guarantee caliper clearance.

Use Wilwood’s wheel-clearance diagram to verify:

• Caliper-to-spoke clearance
• Caliper-to-barrel clearance
• Wheel-mounting surface position
• Hub offset
• Tire-to-fender clearance

Wilwood requires a minimum of approximately 0.080 inch of wheel-to-caliper clearance in all areas.

Installation Note

Professional installation by someone experienced with disc-brake systems is strongly recommended.

Before installation:

• Confirm the correct Wilwood ProSpindle for the truck’s model year
• Verify the truck uses a compatible 5 x 4.75-inch or 5 x 5.00-inch wheel bolt pattern
• Confirm wheel and caliper clearance using Wilwood’s template
• Inspect ball joints, tie-rod ends, control arms, wheel bearings, and steering components
• Obtain the correct flexible brake-line kit
• Confirm all hardware achieves proper thread engagement

After installation, bleed the brake system thoroughly, check for leaks, verify pedal pressure, and complete Wilwood’s brake-testing and pad-bedding procedures before normal road use.

Do not operate the vehicle until the braking system has been fully inspected and tested.
