Gates TCKWP247 Timing Belt and Water Pump Kit for Acura Integra VTEC

Complete a major timing-system service with the Gates TCKWP247 timing belt component kit with water pump for select 1994–2001 Acura Integra models equipped with a 1.8L DOHC VTEC engine.

This stock-replacement service kit combines the timing belt, timing-belt tensioner, and timing-belt-driven water pump in one package. Replacing these components together helps avoid reusing an aged tensioner or water pump when installing a new timing belt.

The TCKWP247 kit is designed for the B18C1 engine found in the Integra GS-R and the B18C5 engine found in the Integra Type R.

This kit does not fit the non-VTEC B18B engine used in the Integra LS, GS, RS, and Special Edition.

Why Replace the Water Pump During Timing-Belt Service?

The water pump is driven by the timing belt and is located behind the timing covers. Much of the labor required to replace the water pump overlaps with timing-belt replacement.

Replacing the timing belt, tensioner, and water pump together can help prevent duplicated labor if an older water pump begins leaking or develops bearing wear after the new timing belt has been installed.

Installation Note

Professional installation is strongly recommended. Incorrect camshaft-to-crankshaft timing can result in serious internal engine damage.

Follow the applicable Acura service procedure and confirm that all timing marks are correctly aligned before rotating or starting the engine. After installation, rotate the engine manually through the required revolutions and recheck the timing marks.

Clean the water-pump mounting surface carefully and install the supplied sealing ring in the correct position.

Do not overtighten the water-pump mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts evenly to the factory Acura torque specification. Excessive torque can damage the aluminum pump housing, distort the mounting flange, crush the sealing ring, strip the engine-side threads, or cause a coolant leak.

Refill the cooling system with the correct coolant mixture, bleed trapped air, check for leaks, and confirm normal engine operating temperature after installation.
